A Sad World

The craziness of “active shooters” hit close to home when our daughter had to be evacuated from Gannett Headquarters yesterday as SWAT and first responders moved in. Thankfully it was a false alarm. But, with the debate over people’s 2nd amendment rights and advertisements for bulletproof backpacks for the return to school, it got me thinking. What a sad commentary when our “right to bear arms” trumps our right to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
