Babies, Toddlers With COVID-19 More Likely To Transmit Coronavirus To Others In Home Than Teens, Study Finds

The New York Times (8/16) reports, “Babies and toddlers are less likely to bring the coronavirus into their homes than teenagers are, but once they are infected, they are more likely to spread the virus to others in their households, according to a large new study by a Canadian public health agency.” While the research, which was published in JAMA Pediatrics, “does not suggest that toddlers are driving the pandemic,” it nonetheless shows that even extremely “young children can still play a role.”

I still believe that daycare centers and preschools are very safe for children, but we do need to exercise caution. Mask where possible and get the vaccine.
